About Mindscaper

Mindscaper is a danish association founded by former Audacity team member Leo Wattenberg. Initially growing out of an online tools collection for kw.media, Soundscaper quickly became more and more capable until it finally reached a point where it had more features than Audacity, the program we initially wanted to achieve parity with. Over time, it became clear that Soundscaper shouldn't stay a kw.media tool, but grow organisationally resilient: Companies and individuals can be bought out, while an association of creative people would remain in control of their own tools.

If you'd like to join us in forging our own tools instead of being eternally tied to subscription services, ad-supported nonsense and trial versions, you can join us. We're not really interested in your money (hence why this isn't a foundation), but instead we are interested in you: Your experience, your needs of what your tools should do, your goals as an artist. Software should enable people to be creative and help accomplish tasks, not create unnecessary friction.

Status of the mindscaper association

Mindscaper at present is an association that's still getting started. While we do have bylaws, we don't yet a have CVR number, bank accounts, tax-exemption status, and so on and so forth. As such, we don't collect any membership dues right now. In practice, what we have right now is a community (forum/chat) you can join, without any further strings attached – and of course the first two tools you can use already, Soundscaper and Framescaper.
